Congratulations, you've decided to write a book…that's great! A book can give you recognition and help you to attract more clients to your business. And if those are your only goals, then the faster you write your book, the better. However, if you are just focusing on having a book fast, you might miss one of the best reasons for having a book...and that is to make money.
The quick and easy way to attract more recognition and clients is "slowing down and taking the time to create a bestselling business around your book", says book business expert DrProactive Randy Gilbert. DrProactive says you will end up with a more money, a better book, and a continuing stream of income that far exceeds what you would have otherwise made with just a book.
It can make you a bestselling author, and a millionaire at the same time, which is why DrProactive named "bestselling business". You can use these three steps to create an information business centered on your book.
Step 1:
Make a list of the top 10 benefits (20 is better) you can provide for your clients. Then write out the top 7 ways that you will create those benefits (i.e. the tips, strategies, and short cuts from your own expertise that can help solve their problems). Congratulations, you have the Table of Contents for your book.
Step 2:
Use the same expert knowledge that will be going into your book to create other information products. One of the fastest products to create is a Teleseminar.
Ask someone with an e-mail list (friend or JV partner) to interview you over the phone and invite their followers to listen. This is good for you and them, because they get good free content to give to their list, and you get a sound file that can be transcribed as part of your book. A one hour phone interview could become an entire chapter of your book. Repeat the process for each chapter in your Table of Contents, and your book will be done in no time.
There are at least six other optional products that will help you write your book and make money at the same time. Before your book is published, these info products can help generate lots of pre-sales for your book. By pre-selling your book you can often sell enough copies so that you become a bestselling author when your book is published. You'll get more clients and recognition by achieving bestseller status than you would by just being an author.
Step 3:
Do one proactive thing a day using the 80-20 rule as a guide to what will have the most impact. Sixty minutes would be awesome but even 30 minutes would be great. Even on your busiest days, try to do at least 10 minutes at some point. Don't focus on perfection, just take action. Get a first draft done. Then revise it as you have time, or send it to an editor to do that for you.
Rearrange your priorities and start writing your book today by creating a bestselling business. Follow the guidelines above and in 90 to 180 days (or less) you will not only have the first draft of a great book written, you'll have enough books pre-sold to make be a bestseller as soon as it's published, as well as passive income to help put your business in the black.
You can't start yesterday, and you shouldn't put it off until tomorrow . Get started right now with building a bestselling business around your book. You'll get a bestselling book and a million dollar business the quick and easy way. |
